   1.- BELT TEST POLICY

At Grace Karate Do, we look to teach the kids as best as possible  to learn the Art of Karate Do. Once The Sensei and his staff consider the kid(s) is ready, they will be considered for testing for the next level.  Please keep in mind that when a student is not considered for testing is to protect them emotionally as not passing a test could hurt the kid(s) even more. At Grace Karate Do – Not presenting a Kyu Test is not a Failure , rather we see it as an opportunity to grow and mature more. For us, every kid is a blessing.

Grace Karate Do need the parents support by letting the kid(s) knows what we are looking from each of them and help them to work in the following areas.

1.- Attendance. 90%.

2.- Discipline.

3.- Attention.

4.- Effort.

5.- Respect.

6.- Positive Attitude.

7.- Know the Karate routines (Kihon) ; The Kata ; Sparring Drills.

Parents , the higher the belt the more responsibility that Sensei will request from the Students.

One example of effort.

Tie the Karate Belt. It is ok for a white belt not knowing how to tie their belt. However, at yellow belt you should know it already. And from Orange Belt and up, they must know it and come to the class every single time wearing very well tie their belt. Not doing it , shows to Sensei that Students does not give importance to their uniform.

Attendance.

Parents , students can come to every class and still might not learn as they might not want to be doing Karate , as may be it was not their idea. This is why, it is key your support, love , motivation and specially encouraging them to never give up.

What about the students who has stopped coming to the Dojo for several months.?

The students will be able to come back with the same Color Belt, however it must show to Sensei that He/She knows all the karate techniques for the current level and Sensei will determine when is the right time to test again.
